CeBIT, the world’s biggest B2B event in the area of digital technology, was held in mid-March 2016 in Hannover. As a partner country, Switzerland was given the unique opportunity to present its capacity for innovation and digital expertise to an international audience. Switzerland was not only represented by established companies, innovative start-ups, universities and universities of applied sciences – Switzerland Innovation had a stand at the trade fair, and presented the project to those in attendance.

Together with the five sites, the first international presentation of the network was used as an opportunity to hold numerous talks with companies, researchers and media representatives, and to gather initial positive feedback. For example, the goal of ensuring that Switzerland remains a competitive and innovative country in the coming decades by establishing a network of technology sites centered around leading universities and research institutes was considered to be an important and good step.

Switzerland Innovation was also present with a stand in the Swiss Pavilion at Hannover Messe, the world’s largest industry trade fair, at the end of April. The representatives of Switzerland Innovation used the leading trade fair in the areas of industry 4.0 and digitization as an opportunity to exchange information and ideas, and to talk to interested companies and potential cooperation
